FixLosAngeles.com was started by a group of volunteers who are extremely dissatisfied with the performance of Los Angeles City government and the gross lack of service to the public welfare.

It is clear that there are problems within the city that need to be addressed. Many believe unchecked growth has outstripped our infrastructure and compromises our quality of life. Our streets are filled to capacity. The sewers are 100 years old. Black-outs threaten our neighborhoods on calm, cool, clear days. Our public education system lacks support and basic upkeep causing our children to perform below national standards. Street Services has a 20 year backlog of fixing sidewalks. Hospitals and emergency centers have closed in the double digits over the last 5 yrs.

And to top it all off, the city has no money even though property tax revenue has increased dramatically due to the real estate boom of recent years. Residents are asked to pay more and more in fee’s while rich developers get tax breaks amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars. With all of that we have to ask, "What's going on here?!"

We are here to promote change; to inspire involvement and open meaningful dialogue that will lead to solutions. We will hold government accountable. We will identify problems and seek ways to solve them through public interaction and community involvement. Everyone has a voice. We want to hear yours.
